    hI Guys,

Since im good with the Internet, ive decided to create a website
with all the MAXIM X info I can find, the 86 X is different from other maxims and , and many of its parts are specific to the 86 model only, such as Frame, seat, Forks, Electrical system, backrest, ect... I thought those of us who have them could appreicate a site with info and data on them. This site will be specific to those bikes made in late 85 and titled as 86 maxim x ( you know if you have one , they have a radiator). I have spoken with Yamaha japan and they have agreed to see what they can dig up for me on these bikes, if anything.
( they say when new models come out much is tossed out to make room for new stuff) so they wouldnt have retained much of anything in a dusty old warehouse. ( do they have those in japan ? probably not! lol )
I hope to make something that can benifit and help since alot of data on this model bike is rare here in the u.s.

Maxim 700s are aircooled. Maxim-X 700s are watercooled.

You have (8) different versions as far as I know.
    XJ700N ('85 700 air cooled)
    XJ700XN ('85 700 water cooled)
    XJ750N ('85 750 air cooled candian version)
    XJ750XN ('85 750 water cooled candian version)

    XJ700S ('86 700 air cooled)
    XJ700XS ('86 700 water cooled)
    XJ750S ('86 750 air cooled candian version)
    XJ750XS ('86 750 water cooled candian version)

And there was a california version that simply added a "C" to the model# and included more emmision control stuff.

There are other more knowledgeable experts here that will jump in if I'm incorrect.
Len possess a vast knowledge of all the model numbers, and associated VIN numbers to go with them.
