Heya! My name is Andrew, and I hail from the scenic burg of Rochester, NY (between Buffalo and Syracuse). I scored a semi-basketcase silver '82 Seca 650 from eBay in September, and with every repair she just gets to be more fun to ride. I used to own an '82 Maxim, sold it, then missed it terribly. It's a slow but steady restore on the Seca, but the miles are already stacking up. I found this site while web surfing, and after looking through it, it appears I'm in good company.

    Welcome, Andrew!

Yeah, those Secas are fun indeed. Be sure to let us know if we can help you in any way, and pictures are always good to share, too.

Welcome Andrew. I know what you mean about missing your Maxim. Before I got into bikes I was a car guy. I still remember my very first 83 Mustang GT. Man, what a ride! I had many cars since then (even other Mustangs) but my memories always come back to the very first one. I hope the Seca will replace your first love :).

I have a feeling I'll get all the info I need to do a killer restore. As for the Maxim....I rode it like a man posessed until I decided I wanted something that could hold a bit more luggage and gas for those longer tours. I sold it to my dad for almost nothing and got a '98 Kawasaki Concours. Loved the Concours until a 100 pund chunk of ice and 15 feet of roofing gutter fell 2 1/2 stories on top of her. 'Nuff said. I went bikeless for 6 months until finding the Seca. I'll post pics soon.
