Started tearing down 1982 XJ650 Maxim parts bike

    Removed carbs for rebuilding for my daily rider.

    Minor rust everywhere.

    Engine runs strong. Transmission is stuck 1st-Neutral-1st.

    Just about everything (except for carbs) is up for grabs.

    I do believe the bike has an electronic tach.
    There are wires going to the tach and no cable like the speedo.

    I loosened two grab bar bolts and the grab bar came apart at the shock mount (right side). YOWZER! I removed the broken-off piece and laid it aside.

    There goes a replacement grab bar. Lesson learned is that if I ever buy another parts bike to loosen all the grab bar bolts and check the structural integrity of the grab bar.

    As for the intake manifold boots, the bolts all came loose with minimal force.
    The boots are checked/cracked on the outside but inside they are perfect.
    I think these boots can be re-used with a cleaning and applying some RTV.

    I will sell the set of 4 boots for $30 delivered anywhere in the USA.
    I have high-res pictures of the intake manifold boots for anyone wanting to see them.
