Last I heard this Yamaha XJR1300 was a spin off XJ900 ??

    2009 & 2008 Yamaha XR1300 : Sold in different countries through the years. The last I heard it was the spin off the XJ900?

    Why doesn't Yamaha sale these in the U.S.A. ????

    whats the yellow cylinder near the back shock?

    More bike than I need, but I would LOVE it...

    The XJR1300 where basically derived from the earlier XS1100 but without the shaft drive and are very popular out here in Australia.
    They have masses of grunt as I owned a 2004 model from new , based on the classic naked bike looks and style they are agaless in looks and cheap to import from Japan for you blokes in the USA.

    their weak spot is the front forks , for a bike so powerfull and torquey they need a biult in fork brace and better rear shocks but the motor is a rippper, definetly the Mack truck of motor bikes.
    The yellow canister you ask about is the Ohlins shock as Yamaha bought Ohlins some years ago.
