    Can anyone tell me if a 81 xj650 ignition switch can be used on a 85 xj700?

    My guess would be yes. The switches look the same, and I know the one off the 81 xj 650 fits various bikes from 1980 to 1988. There are new switches available from some Ebay sellers that are just like original, I bought one and it worked perfect on my 900.
