I just picked up a XJ for nicks today
engine number 521-004010
What model would that be
It will need some work done on it.

 

That looks like a 1982 or 1983 Seca 750 with a rare factory Kangaroo rack.

Look on the front of the frame, on the head tube, near the master cylinder resivour, there are numbers stamped into the frame. Post those numbers.

Look on the motor between #2 and #3 exhaust- - does it say 748 CC ??

Its a 1981 XJ750 seca

This bike used to be a Couriers bike the rack on the back had a big box on it for parcels
it has been left outside for many years

 

It should be titled as a 1982. It may have been built in the fall of 1981.
The black fork legs tell me it's not an '81.

Is that rack welded to the frame?

 

Based on the XJCD model code identification chart, frame numbers starting at 5N1-003101 thru to 5N1-103101 is a 1982 XJ750RJ Seca.
Your engine identification number should match if it's original.

Got the fuil cap open today it was Seized closed I can still smell the old fuel
Still a long way to go
My main ride is a XS650 I rebuilt; I have another XS on the way
So this one may take a little time to get any were near the road
I just want to see if I can get it started first I am told it was running three years ago.
