    Hi,

I recently bought an XJ650 as a basket case and am looking to re-build and convert her to a Maxim-hybrid (is a Seca) over the winter.

Has anyone converted an older ('81) XJ650 to run on different carbs? I am struggling to get hold of good original carbs here in the UK, with shipping costs from the US being fairly restrictive, although there seems to be an abundance of 600 diversion and other carbs on the 2nd hand market.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks! Peter

Are you saying you don't want to use XJ650 Seca carbs, or XJ650 carbs in general? Seca and Maxim carbs, 81 - 83 (80 also?) will work. Also, 750 carbs will work (they have larger jets).

Sorry I don't have any spare, found some on ebay but took me a while. Bought a bunch of items from the States as there seems to be more choice there...

Might have few bits left over after the build tho, so will keep you posted. Will also keep an eye on ebay for you.
