Can people post some pics of their mod/aftermarket rear fender and tail light? I would really like to clean up the back end of my bike. Also, what does everyone think of these saddle bags? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Universa ... 240%3A1318 Are there brackets out there for the maxim? Or does everyone fab up their own?

    THANKS!!!

There are endless ideas on how to clean up the back of these bikes. You just have to do a little research and do some experimenting like some of us did.
I installed leather bags on my bike after I bobbed it with a little ingenuity. I made brackets to hang them from the side rails with an L-shaped ledge on the bottom so they could not sag and hit the pipes. I also had to make them extend out from the frame to clear the shocks.
Those hard bags you posted look to me like they would work if the inside support brackets are made strong enough to support the weight and cause the bags to crack (I've seen that happen alot from poor brackets holding the bags to the frame) I suggest using a flat plate inside the bags so they can be bolted to some type of bracket on the bike to keep them from cracking from vibration or over loading them with too much weight. Good luck and let us know how they work out for you.

I have a set of Mutazu GA bags on my 750 Maxim. I used the universal mounting brackets that they sell and drilled/tapped the aluminum rails to mount the bags. I have carried a 12 pack of beer without any problems. I posted some pictures of them here

alaskazzr....Ive been thinking about a set of bags from that company myself..... www.mutazu.com.

I like the idea of the lights being in the bag, the only thing I dont think I would like about those bags is the side opening. Its not waterproof and it could be a pain keeping things in the bag when you are opening it....

The other bags with lights on them are top opening and even state they are waterproof.

This is how mine look on my '82 Seca. I made the brackets so the bags clear the exhaust by 1-1/2" so the bags don't get hot.
