    Hey guys,

New to the forums. Finally got my hands on an 82 550 SECA after many months of gawking to get one in my price range and I'm turning it into a British inspired cafe bike.

Question: I have a MAC 4-1 exhaust and I was wondering if anyone had attached a sportster muffler to their system and how much fabrication will need to be done to make it fit?

Build thread to follow when its not so damn cold in Toronto :(

    Hey,
I have an '82 XJ750 and bought a pair of sportster mufflers off EBAY. They had caome off another 750 and they work fine, sound great! As far as I can tell they had just rigged a brace to mount them with. If you like I can email you a picture!

Used HD Softail mufflers on my XS bike, sounded and looked great.

Winter fun idea: rig Ski under front wheel, convert XJ rear wheel to snowmobile track drive. Riding in winter - no problem.

Used to live in northern Maine, only 3 miles from international border crossing. Plenty cold, LOTS of snow.

    Welcome to the forum!

doesn't need a HARLEY muffler. Find an old Triumph muffler or better yet Dunstall or Dunstall-replica (reverse-cone similar the the Norton Commando but shorter) if you're gonna keep the 4-1.

just look at my pictures, i think i have them, or i started a thread, all i did was get adapters and some aluminum and drilled holes, but you're embarking into new territory with a 4-1 job, so good luck
