Welcome to the board, and the wealth of knowledge is here for you!
There is a great task that you MUST perform for the betterment of our group.

Have you already seen the map?
    http://www.xjbikes.com/dfmaps.html
If not then check it out. It is the XJBikes Map!!

Please review to check out which wrenchers are in your neighborhood.
Or which riding buddies are close.
Or who might have some unobtainium parts laying in their garage.

Add yourself on the map so that others can do the same.
As of today we have 3134 forum members
but we only have 259 mapped locations
That equates to a measley ~8%, lets all pitch in and add your icon where it belongs(on a map)

Don't know why but when I try to view the map it the directional and zoom icons come up but the map never does. It doesn't seem to work for me.

Quite some time. I love the idea of the map but I can get it to work. Here are the Browsers/OSes I have tried.

    Debian:
    Firefox 3
    Epiphany
    Konqueror
    Windows XP:
    Firefox 3
    IE 7

None of them seem to work.

I managed to get it working but have somehow given myself a location in the deep Pacific Ocean lol. While it would be nice to be on a cruise ship having a great time, sadly I am not. Is there someone that can delete that location for me, or tell me how to so I can change it?

I use IE, and the process is simple.
Using the middle roller as the zoom in/zoom out, find your town while zooming in.
Once you find your neighborhood click the left mouse button.
You will either be establishing a new location or updating from another location. Either way click the button approving the change and your done.

There are several questions about the map here that I found answers to through trial and error. When Maps is chosen under Community, it takes you to the GOOGLE maps page. You then have to select "members map" and then you get to see the whole world.

To enter your location scroll down and you will see the box to enter an address. Just fill it in with your full address and it will place the marker for you.

When I entered my location it was at the wrong end of the street. I zoomed in using satillite and located my house, took the longitude and latitude and entered those to correct the location.

Hope this helps those of you trying to enter.

I've tried this a few times, got my location put in, I think, but I can't see anybody elses.

If anyone wants to know where I am I think I'll e-mail them an old Texaco map. It'd be quicker.
