Hello everyone.... I'm Karl and I just bought my 81 XJ650 Maxim about a week ago. It's my first real bike. I bought it from an add I saw on Craig's List. It's a clean, honest bike, in good shape that needs a cleaning and polishing.

Oh, and I have yet to get my license... I'm working on it....

Very clean bike! Badges and paint intact, impressive :D

I agree, looks much better without the fairing.

What's the fairing worth? I'm definately interested in selling it. It's a genunie Yamaha and good shape. The only bad thing is there is a scrape on one side (looks like someone brushed up against something), there's a small crack at the base of the windshield, and there's a small hole (about 2-3 inches) by the headlight. The scrape and the hole could easily be mudded in. Thoughts?

I'm not sure but being as most cosmetic parts for XJ's seem to be harder to find then not.

I'd be more then willing to bet you'll find someone here thats interested. If I hadn't just ordered my Viper fairing we might be talking price :p

Welcome karl! I'd put the fairing on ebay and let the peeps judge the value. Thats just my 2 1/2 cents. Nice bike too! That fairing was an eyesore. Kind of like a woman hiding behind all kinds of make up...Glad you took it off
