    According to one comment he accelerated coming off the bike - from the impact G forces is my guess. Hard deceleration on pavement at 40 mph has been measured at 11 - 12 Gs ... That means one would weigh up to 2800 lbs. upon landing very quickly and HARD ... more than enough to kill or main.
