    Hey guys, new to the forums here. I was just given a 1985 XJ700X. Hoping to get some advice from everyone here.
    I'm having a really hard time locating the rubber boots that go from the air cleaner to the carbs. I can't seem to find these things ANYWHERE.. Does anyone know where I might be able to buy these? 3 of mine are in fairly decent shape, but one has literally turned to brittle hard plastic.
    Thanks.

    Congrats on your newest "purchase."

    Just to save you a bit of searching, this is what you're looking for.

    HCP561 OEM Air Cleaner Box-to-Carb Rubber BOOT, for all XJ700-X models, each:
    $ 10.50

    HCP561SET4 OEM Air Cleaner Box-to-Carb Rubber BOOTS, set of 4:
    $ 39.50

    This was taken from this thread: http://xjbikes.com/Forums/viewtopic/t=14561.html

    It's not the most conventional way of listing parts, but it works. If you send Chacal a list of items you need, he'll generally get back to you within a day or two with a quote and availability of the items. He ships extremely fast and is very reliable.

    Some people have all the luck... 8)

    Anyway. I've added pictures to an existing writeup on breaking down the Mikuni carbs, and wrote another one on flushing the coolant.

    Another site that can provide some useful information is Maxim-X.com. If he doesn't know the answer to what you're looking for, he can probably find out.

    Lastly, you'll be wanting to purchase the XJCD set. A treasure trove of technical documentation if there ever was one. Service and parts manuals for the X are included.

    Awesome, thanks alot guys. I think as soon as we get through the holidays and things slow down a bit I'll definitely be getting 4 of those boots from Chacal. Looking at the parts list I'm assuming I'll need to get the clamps for the carb side of those boots aswell.. The bike seems to be missing those.
    Thanks again everyone.
