I JUST saw one up on eBay, the guy had it listed as being for "Secas," thought it was universal fit. I emailed him and explained that what he has is only for the 550s, plus I busted his chops about his price. Can't find the listing right now it was just a couple days ago tho

If you're lucky it will come with the brackets. I sold mine to fellow XJ'er PaulT (with brackets) for $50. They're quite simple but I just checked and you can get most of them NOS and they're not expensive.

I have learned a little trick with eBay auctions---if the seller starts off too expensive, and no one bids: Wait until the auction ends (and the seller is now stuck with item and trying to decide whether he wants to pay to re-list it) and email the seller with a reasonable offer. More often than not he'll bite, or re-list with your offer as the starting price.

Also, have you checked salvage yards for your fairing? Sign up with these folks and see what happens: http://www.uneedapart.com/used-auto-parts-request.php They put your request out and if a yard has it they will respond. Worked for me.

    I do the same thing.

    Not that I care.

True, that has happened. But then again it can work. I'm "in negotiations" right now with a guy, local to me, who had ZERO bids on a supposedly 6000 mile 550 motor. He was being a bit touchy at first but once he realized he might actually have a chance to SELL the thing he is being very cooperative. My point is it's always worth a shot.
