    Looking really good.

I'm betting a few people will want to know where those pipes came from.

that engine looks really good. did you polish it up yourself or get it done someplace?

ive done some polishing (a LOT of it) on my 550 max but it didnt turn out NEARLY as nice as yours...

and yes, those pipes DO look good. did Carl have something to do with those?

I did the polishing myself using many types of polish. The best was jewelers rouge and a buffing wheel. The whole project took me 6 weeks.
The pipes are MAC's. I'm going to replace them in the spring.

    WOW!!! Your XJ looks great.

I've been polishing mine in between restoring it. I am using a 4" cloth buffing wheel I got from my local hardware store. I put some Semichrome on the buffing wheel and have at it. Using a cordless drill to buff sure speeds things up and is less tiring than hand buffing. I haven't just limited the buffing to the engine. I polished the grab rail that goes aroung the seat and the rear foot peg brackets.

    Wow! Very nice job Stahlmaster,
I've got an 81 XJ 650J that is in decent shape. I have the shiney parts polished and looking good. I'm at a loss as to how to clean up the non polished parts. How did you clean those up? The engine fins, gearbox, final drive, etc. Those seem to be a challenge.

Thanks, and I wish I could get mine half as good as yours! Mine is not nearly as bad as yours started.
