Im reassembling my bike and I dont have the intake boots so I need some new ones. I have the option to buy a set of XJ750 intake boots but I need to know if they are going to fit on my 82 XJ650.

Yep, they shore will! They just have to be from an aircooled 750. The watercooled 750X engines have different intakes. The only 750 I know of that may not have the same intakes is the '84 XJ750RL which is a 750 in the 900 frame. So if the intakes are from an 81 to 83 750 you are good. To be more specific I am refering to the intakes that attach to the cylinder head. If you are speaking of the intakes that are between the carbs and the airbox then post which bike the new ones are from so I can cross check.

According to Yamaha, NO. Different part numbers. chacal has them and they're still available from Yamaha. If you pay more than $13.50 each you paid too much.

I get part #5G2-13596-01-00 for the 82 650 Maxim and the 750 Maxim and Seca. The 80 and 81 Maxim 650's are different due to their not having a YICS port.

13.50 for carb holders? Where are you finding that magical price?

The AIRBOX boots are different and won't interchange between 650 and 750 engines.

I carry the correct 650 airbox boots in stock, and will have the reproduction 750 airbox boots available in 4-6 weeks.

The INTAKE MANIFOLDS are the same between all 750 and non-YICS 650's.

The non-YICS ('801 650 Max and '82 650RJ Seca) intakes are the same as the '82-up 650 on one side, and different on the other side of the engine, and the different ones will NOT interchange!

So then 2 of the 750 intake manifolds will work with my YICS 650 motor? and two of them wont?

The AIRBOX-to-carb rubber "boots" are completely different between the 650's and 750's. The 650 boots are longer and have an "angle-cut" end at the airbox for the use of those boots with the unique 650 airbox (NOTE: 650 and 750 airboxes look VEYR SIMILAR, but they are different).

The INTAKE MANIFOLDS from the carbs to the cylinder head are different between YICS and non YICS engines on the left side of the engine (cylinders #1 & 2), but are the same between YICS and non-YICS engines on the right side (cylinders #3 & 4).

If you have a 650 YICS engine, then ALL FOUR intake manifolds will fit correctly from an XJ750 air-cooled engine. However, NONE of the airbox-to-carb boots from the 750 will work on your 650 frame/engine/airbox.

    Hope that helps!

My apologies. You said "intake boots" not "intake manifolds" so I gave an answer pertaining to carb-to-airbox boots. Intake MANIFOLDS for that price would be a steal indeed, and aren't what I was referring to. Sorry for any confusion.
