    It is Ferrari Red..

The Bike is running very well since I cleaned and adjusted the carbs. I don't see any other problems needing attention, for now.

Get a black permanent marker to dress up the tank emblem screw heads, and call it done. Very nice example of an XJ 650 you have there!

Good tip about the screw heads, thank you it worked.

It looks like I over tightened the screw on the right side, the emblem is cracked. I am pretty sure I can save it so I will take it off and glue it.
Anyone have experiance with painting the Gold letters? I was thinking maybe nail polish???

Great job. I bought some liquid gold leaf and used it on my side cover emblems. Worked great.

The original 650 tank also had a chrome trim around 2/3 of the bottom. I replaced mine with door edge trim and did the whole thing. I lkie the way it looks. But I must say yours looks great without it.

Used Gorilla glue and a rubber band to hold it together as it dried.

    Worked out fine......
