I am looking to purchase the left side and right side xj650 maxim emblems for my 1981 Yamaha xj650 maxim cover panels. I hope this is not a wild goose chase. So far I have not found any. If anyone has a lead to finding them I would sure appreciate it!

Tell me about it, I found four, FOUR left-hand side covers for my bike, no right hand ones, unless I wanted to buy both, one guy had a set.

There is a Maxim 750, just like mine, but maroon color, in the little "impound" yard at the campus cop-shop where I go to school. That thing has been sitting in there for months, tickets all over it, apparently abandoned. It has everything, three-point engine case guards, freeway pegs, even that lock chain that goes in the little compartment on the lower left side. But guess what, it's missing a right-hand side cover.

I asked them about it, but apparently they can't do anything with it, until the city comes and takes it, then it might be auctioned off. Sheesh, just give me 20 minutes with a socket wrench.

Maxim side covers (yes right ones) pop up on eBay all the time. Much easier time finding the whole cover than the emblems.

Be glad you don't have a Seca 550...
