This bike is gorgeous. Had the chance to sit on it at the bike show this past weekend, and it just felt sooo right. But being more a fan of Japanese sport and street bikes, the price of Harley Davidson bikes just blows my mind. Is there any justification to charging so much more than the Japanese competition? Any legitimate answers beyond simply because "it's a Harley?" t

Looks like Harley is trying to get a chunk of the warrior customer base.

I posted about this ride last year, I really like it too.
I said I wanted this one or an XR750.

there is no justification for the price that i could think of. it would be nice if they layed out all the costs and showed the public "this is what we have into it, this is what you are paying".

i think it will always be a little more than a jap bike because of labor costs, but should not be THAT much.

Hey Hound, great taste in bikes, I've always liked the XR 750 myself. Its different from all the other Harleys I almost bought myself a 1977 XLCR about 4 years ago, but thats a long story. I like the cafe style H-D.
    Kneivel used a XR 750.

Guys guys guys! HD is under no obligation, ethical, moral, or legal to divulge the costs associated with any of their products. This is 'merica, the land of supply and demand and free enterprise! As mentioned above, as long as someone is willing to pay the money HD is obligated to maximizing profitability to their shareholders or private owners. And they have no reason to hang their heads in shame or embarassment for what they charge.

I have always said that there is only one reason to own a Harley. Because you want one. 'Nuff said.

wamaxim: i agree. If you want one, buy one, if you don't, okay too. I've ridden a handful, and while I personally don't like most of their aesthetic choices, the ones i've ridden are pretty comfy and decent fun in town, not so much out in the twisties. That Night Rod is awesome though, imo.

I rode a few of them when i worked at the HD dealership. They are pretty cool. Not really particularly fast, And cant really lean down too far. You need to take a mortgage out on your house to mod them. Idont think i could justify the price for what you get
