    As far as whether $1200 is too much, only you can decide. I can tell you that last year I paid $1000 for an '82 750 Maxim that had 18k on it and needed nothing. Of course, he was asking $1200 but took my offer.

    I had a XS400 in the 80s and loved it. It was not a freeway bike. Its a scooter. It was great on twisty back roads.

    I paid $1000.00 for my '82 650 Seca. It was in good shape and ran, just needed some fine tuning.

    That 400 is in better shape than mine was when i bought it, for $1300 CAN.

    Of course i find that these older bikes are more expensive up here in Canada for some reason.
