    Hey all,

    I'm installing drag bars on my 700. I bought 1 1/2" risers in order for the components to miss the tank. The new bars have a slight bend to them which I have pointed up and the choke lever just barely misses! They look and feel great. I have a couple of questions though. My brake master cylinder is slightly tipped down towards the guages. I've heard that I might need to replace it but I have noticed no difference in braking as of yet. Perhaps the stock master will be ok as long as the cylinder is tipped in favor of the hole in said cylinder? Also, there are two cylindrical rods which seem to me to be weights that came out of the stock bars. What is their purpose and should I put them inside the new drag bars?

    the weights at the end of the bars work to take out vibrations...

    I installed bars on my bike which orients my master cylinder at an angle too. I'd like to see what the collective says about this one.

    You can run the master cylinders at an angle as long as the outlet port is covered with fluid. If the fluid were to drop below the outlet, you'd be pushing air into the line and that wouldn't be good.

    The only downside to the Master cylinder being on an angle is having to get it level when you need to take the cover off to add fluid and/or bleed the brakes. As PainterD stated, the fluid needs to cover the internal ports no matter which way its angled.
