Engine Stalling

Just finished some repairs, not related to the problem. and took it down my street and back, it did fine except for the carbs, still have to make all the adjustments.
The trouble is when I went to put it back in the shed it stalls every time I put it in gear, as if it is in gear. It did this one other time when I first got it. Came back later and it goes in gear just fine with no stalling. What's up with that?
I'm going out now to see what happens if I rock it back and forth while in gear. Is it possible to be hanging in gear and still have the neutral light come on. Or is it related maybe to the kick stand switch?
Edit; I did have the stand off to paint it. I have had it in gear though since then. So if it is the switch it's an intermitant problem.

It must be the switch I just went out started it and put it right in gear no problem.

 

Most likely it's the kickstand switch Richard. I got so tired of mine I removed it entirely.

 

Man, you should have seen me my first time on my bike. I just can't figure out why it kept shutting down when I put it in gear, until the wife says "is the kickstand supposed to be down?"
