Just for the heck of it, how many of you have the engine guards on there bikes? I do and a friend said take them off because they are ugly to have on bikes. I dont know? Im glad i had them on when my son started to learn to ride last year. lol

I have them on mine. I like them, it made a good place to mount my highway pegs.

I too like mine, they are quite nifty for hiway pegs and when you want to stretch your legs out on a ride....

I also have the highway pegs and do like to stretch. The thing is i would like them to be farther out so my knees are not so bent. Are there other ways to mount highway pegs on the XJ bikes?

I've got a set of the chrome 3 point guards - excellent for both my highway pegs, and for my fog lights.

My opinion is that, especially on our bikes, they add nicely to the looks of the engine.

I run case savers on ALL of my XJ's. I highly recommend them.

+5 (or whatever lost count) I love mine, took me a while to find them - have had them on all my bikes.

On the pegs there are all kinds. One of my buddies (on his Harley no boos please :D he's a young guy and I have been trying to educate him) Has pegs clamped to his bars that are on a double arm and can be farther out, up or down. A neat arrangement.

I have a set for mine but they don't look very pretty and I have not put them on yet. I currently have highway pegs mounted onto the engine mount. Saved me when I had to lay the bike down.

I took one side off last night and it looked funny, mine are chrome and rust, a nice combo!! i think they are too rusty to keep chrome. i'm thinking black and reinstall. Mine have pegs and they seemed too close! I'm 6'4" and all legs!!!!

I have had them on other bikes and I loved them! I just got a set of guards and cant wait to get them installed when I get the bike out! Dont meen to jack the thread but:::::
What kind of pegs are you guys running? For best mount w/o turning on the bar?
Do you use the u clamp type? Or I have seen the ones that the two halves come apart like a rod cap?

+1 on guards I like the way mine look but I don't have pegs I would't mind just haven't seen the right ones yet! I also have a good scuff on my left guard from the po so I'm doubley glad that they are there! rash on guard = no damage to engine!

I have them on mine. I think they look good and would love to find some highway pegs that will fit on the tubes. Anyone have any recommendations?

I have some cheap chrome folding pegs on mine. I got them off ebay for ~ $15.00 shipped. Here's some pics of them:
