I have a shark steam cleaner that I was thinking about using on my bike to clean it. Mainly the engine & other grimy parts. Can anyone think of any way that this would damage the bike? I know that you're not supposed to pressure wash a bike but I wasn't sure if the steam would have the same effect on it.

Wow, yeah mine runs out in about 15 minutes....then you have to wait another 20 for it to heat up. Harbor Freight is awesome by the way!

watch yer paint job. i dont know bout seca's but some xj900's use stickers over a base colour for their paint job. the steam could soften the sticker and peel it off. other than that great for engines and the underbelly.

I will strip down a bike when I get it (like to fix and resell, who doesn't?) and then soak it in degreaser, then hit it with my 2100 psi (carefully) pressure washer. No heat though. On occasion, I'll get a plug wet, but usually after the initial wash, the bike is good to go minus the occasional hose off and wipe down.
