Will bar clamps from other XJ's fit a XJ900?

    Hey all,
I want to get rid of the the stock "bar" setup that is on my '83 900. Can I swap out bar clamps from other XJ's? I'm looking at a triple tree on eBay from an XJ400, I believe, just to pull the clamps off. Does anyone know if they will bolt straight onto my 900? Thanks!

    No, nope, don't think so. . .
    900's are 37 MM tubes, 400's might be 35 mm ??
    650's and 750's are 36 MM
You would need a "crown" from a 37 MM bike with the same tube spacing and other measurements, and they have them- - in Australia !!
They run standard handlebars on 900 models in other parts of the world.

You should check out the "Swiss Handlebar" Models from Europe. From what I hear, its much more comfortable and looks better too.

I'd love to have ANYTHING other than stock. Problem is the daarn stock setup isn't that easy to get rid of. I'm now just looking for clip ons that have some rise to them in order to get a comfortable riding position. The big problem is finding them at the right price. I've already dropped far more on this bike than I had planned...

Haven't we all? I'm just now getting into the XJ's but I've spent tons of bucks outfitting and upgrading some of my past BMW's and Kwaka Concours.

I would be willimg to investigate what it would take to go to clip-ons for
My xj 650. I have a spare full front end for my bike including triple trees
forks, front fender, brakes etc. The seals don't even leak! PM me if you
    have any interest.
