You call that ridable? That's desperation. :)

I rode to the Metro rail station today. It was 21F out, and I nearly froze my nads off. I thought it was going to be 10 degrees warmer.

Today winter is over in Kansas its a balmy 70 degrees, sunny and not windy for once. Unfortunately I can't enjoy it since the flu has been sending me to the toilet every 10 min. But in true Kansas fashion we are back down to a high of 45 and low of 19 by Saturday.

Ok so I realize weather down here in Kansas is a little better than for those of you up in say Canada. Heck its much warmer than Norther Indiana where I grew up. But to tempt us all through the week with warm weather then drop it again over the weekend is just cruel.

Major bummer. We must be 2-3 hundred miles south of your latitude.
Today it was 24º but sunny and dry. I took a 1 hour ride, wearing ski pants, down vest, leather jacket, balaclava, wool gloves inside insulated leather mittens. Finger tips hurt, my feet feel like frozen chickens.
There was some high water over one road, I had to slow down and ride the crown, it was just above freezing. To the side it was crusted over.

This'll be a totally wasted weekend. Gray and rain/mix the whole weekend. When I look at the sky, all I want to do is sit on the sofa. After this weekend, we're back to the same 20F low/38F high monotony that we've had all winter.

I swear, if it were 30/48 and sunny, I could stand it and I'd get something done but this is just the pits.

Spring was going well, on schedule, until this morning. It's been snowing big fat heavy flakes since 6am. There's probably 6" of snow so far.

Maybe I will stud some tires. lol.

Well, Mother Nature is a psychic beotch. Picked up my newly painted tank Friday morning. Friday night: 6" more snow and tonight, back below zero.

I will get to ride this thing again, I think.

Yeah, this SUX. We had a halfway decent warmup going, pushing into the 40's, but now we're back to single digits again with highs in the 'teens.

I did manage to sneak in a couple of runs, the new odo says 43 miles now.

My '81 and the Nort still hibernating.

Rode all day today caching. Temps in the 70s. One more spot of cold comming and then it will be riding, riding, riding down here. All of the bikes are down at bike week and seems like you can't throw a sponge with out hitting a bike. (Rocks hurt ya know).

It was 40 deg yesterday but I was able to ride for a while. One or two more tank fulls and I will have ridden 1000 miles this winter. This is the coldest winter in Balto/DC in a long time but not too much precip.

I am starting to get a feel for the bike leaning into turns and navigating city traffic.

It was nice and sunny this morning, but when I made it home it was raining enough to keep me inside(working on the bike outside). If I could get a couple more days of sun when Im not working I would have this thing on the road.

A warmer globe results in greater swings in temperature and more chaotic weather patterns. (Sorry the science teacher in me came out.) Freezes the last two nights and we are expecting 80+ by the weekend (AKA record highs).

This is Maryland. Not Wisconson, not BigFitzigan or New York, it's Maryland.

I don't wanna talk about it. My pipes froze again and when I thawed 'em out this time, the !@#$%^&*() water meter (under the house) was BROKEN. The Village DPW had to come replace it. I think it got up to 19 today but it's supposed to be close to 50 by Thursday.

But it was 61 two weeks ago I put 43 miles on the project bike.

I fully expect we will get one of those snowfalls (like in your pic) but in late April.

I remember winters like that. Growing up in Western Maryland we had awesome snow falls when I was a kid. Now that I'm an adult. I like the south and the 5'' of snow fall per year :p

I'm staring out my window at a beautiful 61 degree day and I can't ride :(

It's 65 here in Cincinnati today. I have my tank off for cleaning so it's a sad day for me. Doesn't help that about every other house on my street has a bike. I think they've all went for a ride today....I think they are taunting me!

Ok, Western MD up in the mountains make sense but I'm down by the water, near Annapolis. Anyway, it's melting off and getting warmer every day so I'm calming down. :)
