petcock question

    so my vacuum petcock doesn't open when it should. what i've done as a temporary fix is just turn it to prime and turn it off when i park it. my question is does prime use the reserve level or the normal level tube?

    ok so that means i have no reserve then right? might be a problem riding 1500 miles. anybody know how accurate the fuel gauge on a 82 750 maxim is? :? 8O

    You still have your reserve, when you switch from pri to res.

    Mine seems accurate enough for what four bars can tell me. The last time I let it read only one bar, it took right around 3 gallons to fill. I haven't yet had to flip it over to reserve.
