hey, well as im typin gim waiting for my primer to dry on my side covers, then ill paint them, then i'll be done painting the body work. Anyways, I'm putting silver pinstripes on also, and to make them last longer, as they are just stickers, i know they will probably make hills in the clear coat, oh well, but please, i need to get my stuff to the guy within the next few days

Yup you can. Make sure you don't have air bubbles underneath otherwise you'll cry every time you look at the thing. Make sure you don't have any ridges either. Otherwise you should be alright. And with enough clear coats you can get rid of that hump ;)

it's Harpo Marx. You need to watch more old movies on TV.

Schooter; if your painter does it right, the clearcoat can be built up to the level of the stripes, making them virtually disappear.

Yamaha didn't do that, the clearcoated stripes on my Secas have an obvious "edge" ridge.

Are they stickers or TAPE pinstripe?

You can clearcoat over tape pinstripes You need to do at least 3 layers of clearcoat inbetween clear coats let it dry and wet sand with 2000 grit wet sandpaper not a whole lot just enough to smooth it out a bit. do this and at the 3rd coat you shouldn't be able to see any BUMPS as you say.

I have a local man who is doing the clearcoat part on my bike I am not ready to try clear just yet on my own . it is a bit tricky

Before you spray the clear coat on the stripes you might want to clean the stripes. If you don't it can cause it to fish eye from the oil on your skin.

It is indeed Harpo Marx. If you don't know who he is, you must find out! But, that is another discussion. Good Luck!!
And who is in YOUR avatar, Schooter?
