Grips

    Looking to order new grips for my bike, I think the bars are 7/8" just wanna order the correct ones. Thanks.

    Yep; anything sold as being for 7/8" bars will work; there are a WIDE variety of styles available.

    You may need to shave down some of the ribs on your throttle barrel is all just so it isn't "lumpy" under the new grip.

    That's what i was thinking, looking at the Progrips ( Same as another member on here ) Those have a nice look to them and seem like they would be rather comfortable compaired to stock. Thanks Big,

    I believe all XJ's are 7/8" bars. I just bought a new set of Progrip model 719's. Won't be installing them until May unless I put them on my snowblower.........if I had a snowblower!

    I bought a set of Progrips and went for the rubber & gel mix. For some reason, I just don't like the feel of the foam grips. One thing to remember is that you may need bar ends.

    The downside for me was that my bar ends wouldn't fit with the weights installed. So, I pulled the weights to ride it a while to see if I notice any big difference.
