    hello
    does anyone know if i am able to hook up an amp and speakers on a 1982 xj 1100 maxim or is there not enough power to run it

    if it's like our beloved xj650/750, probably not, the altenator barely puts out enough for the stock lights and electrical situation.

    XJ1100 has a bigger alternator than the smaller XJs, and even has an auxiliary DC hookup behind the right side-cover (below the fuse box). I don't have the exact numbers, but a small-ish amp would probably be ok...
