    SnoSherrif,

Send me an address or a po box number and I will drop a $20 in the mail to you.

    I HATE PAYPAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I tried to make a donation to you not using my PayPal account because it is such a pain. So, it says I can't use that credit card (my mad money account, no wife or household expenses attached) to make a payment because it matches a card already on file(ya think?). So I log into my account and I was one of the accounts selected to undergo a security something or other. So. I verify I'm logged into PayPal then I change my password, verify my new password, answer security questions 1 and 2 and then it insists that I verify my account by signing up my checking account. BITE ME PAYPAL!

I will send you cash and thank you again for going to the hassle of hosting this site. I think this donation only amounts to about 1/2 cent per hour of enjoyment I get from the site.

So I log back into PayPal to see if I can figure out what has happened. They have restricted my ability to send money because they think fraud has been perpetrated upon me. I ordered a set of the grips that one of the members pointed out to us in a post last week and JC Whitney's system was down so it couldn't calculate the shipping charge, which by the way is exactly the same amount as the cost of the grips! They billed me for the grips and were going to finalize the transaction, i.e. charge me shipping when the order was ready to go.

Wanna bet that JC Whitney rightly snagged another $6.95 for shipping from my PayPal account?

I complied with all of PayPals requests to reactivate my account except I have to be at the "landline phone associated with my account" to answer PayPals call. Well la de da. I'm working at the hospital and it is decidedly inconvenient for me to answer the phone at home right now.

Harrumph! I should probably be thanking PayPal! But durn it! I use a BlackBerry 99% of the time and they make it soooooooo difficult to use. I'm wrong to get this po'd at PayPal because they are in fact looking out for my interests.

    Rant over! The end.

SnoSherrif I will clear this up this morning and send you the thank you sum via PayPal. Unless it gets ugly!

PayPal wants to get your checking account number so they can change your default payment method to a direct withdrawal from your checking account. That way they can avoid card processing fees. I found out the hard way that this is what they do when I registered my checking account with them. I proceeded to make a payment for an ebay purchase and did not notice until the payment went through that they had changed the default to the checking account. Fortunately I had enough funds in the account (barely) to cover it. While you can always change the funding source to your card, they make it a pain in the ass, having to do it every time you wish to use the card and then having a screen pop-up trying to talk you out of it. Sometimes PayPal does blow but they are probably still the best alternative for the average Joe.
