Hope any fuel spilled on the tank does not mess it up. Fuel sometimes tends to eat rattle can paint.

After paint I use duplicolor high heat engine clear coat for a few layers and then the Duplicolor "SUV/truck" clear for another 5-7 coats.
It leaves the best rattle can finish I've seen and stands up to the elements and fuel pretty good so far.

Photos please. I'd like to see what that sparkle candy red looks like.
There's a store near me that has shelves of that stuff for a discount price and I'd like to try it on a project. Maybe my rims!!

That look very nice, I like th ecolor. Do you know how that paint will hold up to spilled gas. You know it will happen sometime.

Dup works great.I have the same color blue on my gsxr.Stuff goes on real nice.I use the plastic kote black as well it is a real forgiving paint.I tired the metal flake red,I didn't like it as much as the blue, the metal flake in the red doesn't seem to pop out as much.

I know Dupli have red, blue and silver w/flake, but don't they have just a flake rattle can in a smaller container?
I'm curious to know if a quick "feather" coat of the flake over top of the base colour would really bring out the flake look.
One day I'll set up a sprayer but for now the rattle can is all I use.

I bought the duplicolor Mirage for my bike. Have not started it yet since I have been sick since I bought everything but am hoping to get a good start this weekend. I also bought the High Heat engine clear to protect it from fuel spills. Glad to hear that it works for someone. I also ordered some decals online to put on the sides of my tank to personalize it a bit more.

I will try to take pics, before and after so I can share. I am really excited.
