as far east as you can get in michigan 43.027407,
does the clear coat in a bomb include any kind of hardener so that it wont chip off easily?

im also thinking for those moments when i might get distracted (like the 20 something flat-belly getting filling her car the same time im topping off the bike) and i accidentally spill a little bit of gasoline...

im considering rattle canning my seca since it might be easier to to do while the panels are all on the bike (so i can get the lines to match up)...

The clear coat in a spray bomb does not have that hardener to actually protect a fender or gas tank, its easily chiped and any little bit of gass will strip it. Tried it on a friends mini chopper once, was great till we spilled a little gass on the tank.

    You gotta get this stuff
    http://www.uschem.com/index.cfm?page=pr ... =141&pid=2

It has a cavity inside that you rupture and release the hardener into the can. Supposed to be same quality as the real automotive stuff.
The nozzle is very good for a rattle can.
    It isn't cheap though!
Best price I could find was $17.40 here:

I did mine last spring and it still looks like new (even after a couple splashes of gas).
You only get about 6 hours before it hardens too much in the can.

I looked far and wide to find it last year...only to be able to get it at amazon.com!

Some of the body supply shops can get it, but I just found it a lot easier to order online and have it on my door step in a couple days.

Very much doubt whether walmart would stock anything that cost them more than $1 a can and wouldn't sell 16 billion cans a month. (sorry, not a walmart fan)

i have read that the aluminum and mag clear is harder and more resistant then regular clear... at $6.00 a can i'll have to test it... if nothing else i'll use it on the kiddo's pocket bike.
