Maybe that's the same guy who had a REAR brake MASTER CYLINDER for a 550 Maxim listed.

But then again I got my sexy NOS 150mph speedometer for $20 because it was listed as being for a 750 Seca, which it 'twarnt, so nobody was bidding.

Looks like a 750 maxim gas tank 81-82 if it has a fuel sender. 83 doesn't have a sender

Got it. I was thinking that it was a bit narrow at the rear though. Probably just the angle of the picture.

Look at the chrome airbox covers.

see the horn peeking out from under the tank?

I'd guess and airhead maxim 700, maybe 1985 vintage?

I too just looked at the picture and stared. In all honesty? Looked like a red gas tank with a rusty gas cap.

Just about what you'd expect from a 650 Maxim owner I guess!?

Uhmmmm, I think you need to check your scale. Water weighs 8 lbs per gallon, gas is only a bit less than that. 2.8 gals of gas weighs just under 22.5 lbs ... :)
