Got the parts from Chacal that weren't allowed to be shipped by Priority mail. Even those came in just under a week! :D

I have to say that not only does Chacal offer the parts we need, he also knows the bikes he's selling for. That's important to somebody like me. He questioned the oil filter spin on kit I ordered. I thought it would fit and he didn't. I went out to measure with calipers rather than my eyeball and he was right! Thanks for looking out for me Chacal!!

I love my spin-on kit. Did you get one?

I sure did. I'm hoping to get that, and the other parts I received, installed by the end of this weekend. Of course, I've already started another list of things to order from him.

    Nighthawk,

Don't look at it that way. You may have more into than you'd ever be able to get back if you sold it, but don't forget to consider the knowledge you've gained and the fun you've had working on it when you consider it's overall "worth".

Although I have to admit, I haven't done much wrench turning in the past. Sometimes when I'm working on it, it's more of an exercise in frustration rather than fun. But it's nice to be able to do this stuff myself.

Plus, if your bike's like mine, you're doing what Chacal says in one of his posts; you're making up for all of the PO's shortcuts and mistakes. I'm hoping future years won't be such an outlay of cash even though he does say to expect to spend 800-1500/year on it. That's fine by me if it includes new tires and other consumables.
