help need to what what xj i have

hi i have a custom xj in a chopper frame only problem is bike has no frame number and the only engine number i can find is 29R on the crank it says ycis not sure what that means tho i need to know year and engne size as bike has zero electrics and need to purchase some to get the beast running any help would be much appreatied thanks

 

There should be a number on the engine near the clutch. Look at our supporting vendor forum. Chacal has a detailed breakdown of the VINs. If you can locate the number on the engine you should be able to tell what it is.

He also explains YICS - in short it is a passage that allows the carbs to share vacuum. Supposed to increase efficiency.

 

Hi yeh thats where im looking the litle panel thing just above where the clutch is i have searched whole engine and thats all thats there i have even phoned yamaha and they told me its japanease but they couldnt give me any details on what size it is i dont supose you know of the diffrence in apperance of the 650 and the 900 do you thanks

 

There should be a longer number starting with a 3 digit code then a string of several numbers.

I could not find 29R on the list. Can you post the whole number.
