So I saw that weird looking Bombardier Spyder trike yesterday at a gas station. It looks a lot smaller in real life... Owner said it got about 32 mpg, which doesn't seem all that great for something that small.. IIRC the engine was 900+ cc.

The tires look like small cage tires, which further detracted form a motorcycle look... then again, it wasn't a bike... The owner said riding it was akin to riding a very fast ATV.

Did it look cool? Yeah, it did. It looked fast and well-made. Would I buy one? Probably not... It's ventured too far from the two-wheel world for my taste.

The spyder is for those with not no ability to keep a bike balanced.

A customer of mine bought one after his knee surgery. He describes driving it as 'bike like'. On the highway its pretty much the same, but in town it corners like a car. there is no lean to it at all. He says it is not nearly as fun as 2 wheels, but closest thing you can get when your legs can't hold you up anymore

I'm starting to see a lot of them around here (Cincy/Dayton, OH area). In fact I saw a group of three riding together a couple of weeks ago. Pretty cool looking but not something that would interest me. There is a dealer only 15 minutes from here.

there are two of them running around in my town as well. I seen one of them at a bar yesterday. They are strange looking but look alot like the Rev snowmobiles to me. I would probably test ride on but wouldn't buy one unless I was unable to ride a two wheeler anymore.

On a side note I saw Harleys new 1200 XR sportser over the weekend and I can't help but kind of like it. In person it looks pretty nice and traditional def a different look than the rest of thier lineup.

I have a friend that is a dealer and I was able to take a fairly long demo ride in the Black Hills in SD, about 80 miles. They are fun and very comfortable for long rides. As one said it's great for those with some issues that prevent them from riding on 2 wheels. The only prblem I saw was in the fuel milage. 32 mpg is a fantasy, flat and wind maybe, but 26 - 28 is more like it. several magazines have also reported this.

Geez Danno, lighten up. I fat finger words all the time with this BlacBerry. It's almost to the point where I can't use a regular keyboard anymore either.
