I was looking for a source for the tank badges on my 81 xj650. The only ones I could find were like $21 each. That's a little steep. anyone find any cheaper?

I heard you can get the golf cart badges cheaper - 99% the same...

One other thing - I have heard that you can refinish them (paint) and that'll get you through.

The golf car badges are $3.00 and come in either gold or chrome from golf car dealers, however they quit making the rectangular ones and use the round tuning fork symbol now. You can only get the older style if you can find a dealer who still has some old stock.

sweet, thanks. I will see if I can find someone who still has the golf cart badges. Chrome would be nice, as the rest of mike bike is pretty chromed out.

They are held on by 2 small screws.

The Seca model is held on by double sided sticky foam tape or something like that, well at least on my model. I used a razor blade to remove them.

I'm not sure mine have the screws. I did take the ones off my side covers. I used a clear silicon adhesive to put mine back on. Just be careful not to get to much on or it will squeeze out and you'll have a real mess.
