I had my bike at the paint shop to have the tank stripe decals applied and a clear coat sprayed over. Just got it back this week and it turned out pretty nice.

That is really sweet looking! And I really like your wheels!

Can I ask about the chrome on the engine? It looks kind of like mine as in, there is no chrome, just metallic. Was the engine originally chrome? On my bike, it looks like maybe it was chrome but the clearcoat faded/flaked off long ago (turned kind of yellowy) and the exposed chrome departed as well.

Turned out GREAT!!! But then I'm biased too.

Beanz No chrome on the engine. Valve cover natural; cylinder head and cylinders as well as the UPPER crankcase were painted silver although you have to do some investigative scratching to be sure. At some point after the '81 MY they quit painting the heads. Model year '82 and '83 had black-painted cylinders. All other covers just polished.
(the above only applies to the 550 Seca for sure; it MAY apply to other bikes but I haven't researched them to the depth I have the Seca.)
