I noticed when I hit a bump on my 650 I hear a clunk, PO told me the headset bearings was replaced at one time, I am going to assume it needs adjustment again.
Is there a special tool(s) I need to adjust the headset? I have adjusted headsets on bicycles I will assume the procedure is the same.

tell you the truth, my dealer and I both just use a screwdriver and tap it lightly to turn it

I have a nasty clunk when I hit the brake hard, as it comes back up.
    Is that the headset bearing?

Lock ring wrenches. I used a pair of single notch wrenches like you'd use on a fixed gear [bicycle] lock ring or old school [bicycle] bottom bracket.
