    Happy Easter everyone,
Just had a quick question on the kick stand relay. Mine has finally given up the fight and I checked on a new one (80.00 BUCKS) and decided that I could live without it. My question is, if I simply unpluged it, would it effect anything besides the relay? Right now, when I start the bike, I have to put it up on the center stand to let it idle on it's own. If I use the kick stand, I have to keep the clutch engaged. Defeats the purpose of letting the bike warm up on its own. Hopefully I can just unplug the relay, and be able to let the bike idle with the stand down.
    Any help would be appreciatted,
    Cheers Mac

I had the same problem last june or so. I removed it and i have lived without it since then.

Obviously, when i start or park the bike, i make sure the bike is in Neutral and that does the trick for me.

My bike has never had the relay. I haven't investigated it on the maxim, but from mucking around with the sportbikes, it seems like if you solder and enviromentally isolate some of the wires that fed into the relay you can simply bypass it. This will allow you to continue to warm the bike up, in neutral, on the kickstand without having to worry about the center stand.

    Thanks for the help guys,
I think I'll just unplug it and run it that way. 100.00 bucks with the tax is an awfully expensive relay 8O . But if there's no real difference it seems the best way to go!

    Cheers Mac
