Hi - brand new to XJ bikes.com...I've had my XJ for about 2 years now, and I'm in the process of converting it now to a bobber.

I had originally purchased a cafe racer seat, which I still have, but I've got the bug to go bobber / rat. I've put drag bars on it, stripped off everything extra I could find (front fender included) purchased a Ford Model A type brake light and a custom plate holder that accommodates that light.

I'm not super mechanically inclined, so I'm making sure I don't screw anything up with the modification I'm about to mention.

I need to hack the rear of the frame. This will allow for a bobber look and expose the rear tire. Is there anything I should be concerned about when cutting off the frame from right before the strut?

Also, I think I'm adding rigid struts to this as well to hard tail it.

Right before the strut is just just fine,Be sure not to cut into the joint where the two parts of the frame currently join.If you do you wont be able to use shotgun shells for frame caps lol,Good like post pics
