i would change the butter maiden front forks...

    the front forks of xj900 will fit in the the frame of the xj650?
    there are other models that fit in the xj650?

    I seem to remember xj750 forks will work, but are dual disk, so you would need the Master cylinder and brake lines also....

    How about just upgrade the fork springs and go to a slightly heavier fork oil?

    let me know how this works out, I'm having problems with the front fender bashing the exhaust pipes, and they also feel way too squishy. rebuild with stiffer springs? upgrade? thicker oil? im on a 80 xj650

    Your springs have sagged. A quick fix is extra spacers under the fork caps, a better fix is new "progressive" springs.
    Oil only controls the damping, not the fork travel, but heavier weight oil will help make the forks feel "stiffer". 15 weight oil would be a good start.

    progressive springs are too expansive. i think it's better buying used forks on ebay 'cause my my seca has dual disc too.

    Which is probably cheaper than any eBay deal and a very worthwhile upgrade. Progressive's springs and 15W fork oil completely transformed the front suspension on my '83 550 Seca, and it WASN'T sagged out yet.

    fixed, i have changed the oil with an oil for the gears of the trucks.
    now is a little bit hard, but better then earlier.
