So I would really like to put some Barends on my handlebars. How is this done? My throttle sleeve is solid on one end. Do you drill it out or can you buy different throttle sleeves?

If I do put bar ends on I want something useful. My cousin has helmet locks on his bar ends. I would really like to look into Throttlemeisters though. Has any one here tried Throttlemesters on their XJ's? They make the per model but it seems that some would work with the XJ's. They have on for an 85-94 Virago. I would think the throttle system would be pretty much the same on the Virago as the XJ's. I'm not really sure how you would do it much differently.

Throttlemeister.com. I've had these on a couple of BMWs, an FZ1, and my current main bike, a Kawasaki Concours. You won't find a better company as far as quality or customer service. I bought my Concours used and it already had a Throttlemeister but wasn't shimmed (adjusted) correctly. I called these quys up to get more shims and I had them in two days no charge...not even for postage. And the actual device is a solid work of art. You get what you pay for and the Throttlemeister is worth every penny. As a cruise control it's not like an electronic cruise that will adjust your speed on hills but it works great otherwise (if adjusted correctly) and is a blessing on long trips. And no I'm not a salesperson for them! :)

Thanks for all the thoughts on this guys. I'm going to bump this to see if any one has actually done this to their bike.

For all of those who have put regular barends on your bike how did you go about the throttle sleeve?
