Does chacal have a bike? At least one that is all together because I know he has pretty much all the pieces to build one from scratch.

Ok so chacal knows just about everything about these bikes. I've even seen comments that he made that are compliments, not just parts advice. Both are super helpful and much appreciated.

But I want to know more about your bike chacal (assuming you have one), If I try searching your name I'll come up with a billion topics where people say how helpful you are halfway through some random topic, so I have no idea if you ever posted this topic or not.

Just curious. P.S. Pics would be awesome!

GREAT QUESTION!!!! I think he's the "man behind the curtain"! Pulling the levers and making smoke pour out etc.

Chacal, How did you come to start XJ4EVER?

You are a huge help with parts and as mentioned above you contribute a great deal on the technical issues.

Thanks for being there man! We love ya!

So. Do you have a bike?

It's probably a 1955 Vincent Black Shadow, to this DAY still the baddest bike on the planet.

I seem to remember him saying that he was just waiting for someone to build a bolt-on EFI kit for his 650... Maybe in the "what should Santa bring you" thread?

But do tell, Chacal! Details? Pictures?

Maybe he has a bunch of bikes still in the crates. He's waiting till we all wear ours out and he can pull his out and make us all jealous. (Just kidding)
Besides even if he has a bike it would have to be in moth balls since he is so busy providing parts for us he surely has no time to ride it. Check and see sometimes at what time of day he responds to our e-mails. He never sleeps.

I've got a fiver that says he has the only 1955 Vincent Black Shadow originally manufactured with SMT ( Self Maintainance Technology), FSMT ( Fuel System Maintanance Technology), self cleaning chrome which is activated by the sun and made by Dupont, and with the extremely rare, for the 1955 model year, rubber restorer known as Resilin which was manufactured by the Goodyear Tire Co. of Akron, OH.

    Any takers? :)

    Schooter? :) :)

It's a 650 Maxim, with a new fuse box, all new rubber in the carbs including diaphrams and intake boots, even tho the old ones were still good, and tapered bearings in the headstock.

I want to know what HCP means ??
Why would EVERY part have the same prefix in a catalog system?

Hmm surprised Len hasn't weighed in. In the fanatical reading of this forum I have done I was amazed to find posts by a newbie Chacal about his bike. I thought he was born an XJ guru. :D

He probably sold the carb bodies to some needy XJer so he can't ride it until he gets an EFI kit.

I remember back in the late fifties, when I was just a shaver, the Vincent Black Shadow Club were tooling up the Uxbridge Road (UK) when a woman stepped out in front of the lead rider & the strap of her handbag caught his bars, he had an offy & the rest of the crew followed suit. It was the biggest pile of black & chrome I've ever seen. 8O

I thought for a while HCP was Hitachi Carb Parts, but that obviously doesn't hold up...

I think I came across some posts about a him putting 750 forks on a 650 at one point...

    Now I'm curious!

The 750 forks are really nice on the 650! And it was a wonderful learning "experience"............

The 750 forks also work really well on the 750.

But I don't think I'll be trying them on the xxx or the couple of xxx's I've got down here.

Gotta leave some mystery, you know............ :D

    Fitz, now your thinking.

That is a specially modified XJ that Chacal built with the help from Doc Emmit Brow. Just behind that fake headlight you will find the "Flux Capacitor".

Len, dont lie to us.... We know that's how you are able to get those parts to us so darn quick :)

Fitz, does that (air)bike on some nanotechnological antigavity device? I'm thinking a Flux Capaciter would get too hot between the legs. I just can't figure out how the VMS (Vortex Management System) works to allow 3 axis manuverability, pitch, yaw, and roll. I'm sure there is a sefisticated gyrotechnology that has been made know by the beings from Planet X. Would be fun to take it for a spin around Leguna Seca.

That vehicle is VERY similar to mine, but I do not have any sponsorship from STP, as I refuse to endorse them for use in XJ-series bikes, due to the deleterious effects that their products have on our clutches.

And besides, mine is black.........a Midnight version, of course! :D

When I was a kid back in the 50's--yeh, I'm that old--there was a radio show called The Shadow. The famous opening of the program was "Only the Shadow knows!" Maybe Chacal is really The Shadow, but in any case "only the Shadow knows" what Chacal rides. But I bet it's perfect.
