    Ok everyone,
I still cant get my bike to start and its really starting to piss me off haha, I cleaned the carbs, replaced battery, checked fuses, replaced ignition coils, tested starter, look for lose connections and cleaned connections. I wasnt able to get spark so I figured replace the ignition coils (which I did today) and Im still getting one or two sparks if that. Bike wants to start but doesnt get past cranking. headlight doesnt start, there is no front or rear turn signals. Any help would be great?

You will have to test all the components of the ignition system, start with the pick up coils, then the igniter, then the coils & plugs.
First make sure the battery is good and fully charged & clean & tighten all terminals. What condition is your fuse box, have you upgraded to the blade type?

I agree with wizard. Check all the ground wires under the gas tank. Make sure they are making good connection. Also check all of your plug in connectors for the coils and in the headlight going to the ignition switch.

I checked in the headlight for the connection and it was good, I found a few bad connections with the grounds and it still hasnt done anything to help. I cleaned out alot of the connectors and still nothing. FUSE BOX IS gone but fuses are still there and tested and there all good.

Where are you located? Perhaps some one is close to you and can assist?

I had a weak spark problem, i took all the spark plug wires off the coils and snipped about an inch off the coil end and put them back on it improved the spark a great deal because the old tips were original and had corroded , i would suggest going to the auto parts store and buying I think there 7mm but they might be 8mm universals wires if you still have the originals .

Hammer, You need to look at just whats in the ignition circuit. Look at the connector from the pick up coils on the left side of the engine. If thats good why don't you do this. Pull the plugs and put the wires on the plugs and lay on the head so you can see all the plugs. Crank the bike over and observe the spark on each plug. Should nice blue spark on each plug Remember this is a waste spark system so two will spark at same time. If the spark is random check your engine grounds. That means take the ground wires off and sand or scrape all of the ground connections and install them with some ignition grease. (Dielectric grease). If you are still not getting spark your going to have to look at the book for specs on the pick up coils and ohm them out.
Just a side note here: Any poor electrical connection on these bikes can drive you crazy. Even if the connection looks good it may not be making contact. The connectors spread in the plastic plugs and may not make good connection. I have had trouble in the head light area with ignition connectors. Also there is one just above the carbs under the frame tube by the side stand safety relay that can give you greif also. Good Luck and let us know if you find anything. If I were closer I'd pop over and give you a hand.

ok stupid question for you but when reading your original post i notice that you changed your ignition coils but did you also change your plugs? lol my guess is yes that would have been changed at the same time but i needed to clarify. along with that changing the plugs for me was what got mine started that and an oil change

Im located in morton grove, if you could help at all that would be great.

Bike ranger: Yes I changed coils and plugs. I have looked at everything and still nothing.

MN-MAXIMS: Im not getting any spark really, Im getting 1 or 2 quick ones and thats it. I will go through and check all my connections and sand/scrape them for sure and post back.

I was just reading about the same bike you have with the same problem, it turned out tobe one of the pick up coils, plus there is one other thing that can cause this (sorry if it was already mentioned) but the kill switch..if it is shorting it can cause weak spark .

Thee Oddball, Could I possibly get you over here to take a look and see what you think could be wrong. Maybe a fresh set of eyes can see what we might have missed. the kill switch seems to be working fine but we only have gotten the bike to crank but nothing past that. The coils are new and the wires/caps look good but as far as that Im still stuck.
