I am new to this board, earned my BRC trained M class on March 21, 2009 and purchased a new to me 1983 Yamaha Seca 750 yesterday afternoon. Someone on another bike fan board recommended this site so here I am.

So far I have saved a few photos of bikes with the same configuration as mine for reference, as it has the factory faring and full hard luggage package.

I will be giving her the hard look over to make certain that she is in full shape but the ride from the previous owner's home to mine was fine once she warmed up. I also got a first hand taste of what to expect from cagers so among the few important mods my new Firefly class Serenity Seca will get are conspicuity modifications to the lighting and I will add some well placed SOLAS tape.

As the tires look fine on tread but have some minor checking I will be looking to change them out eventually and I have my eye on some Continental Trail Attack or Avon Distanzia Dual Sport tires to replace the touring type that are on it.

I look forward to learning from everyone here and getting feedback about whatever trials and obstacles I face in upfitting and maintaining her.

Welcome! If you have any question on the tires replace them You only have two and no backups on the road. Get them replaced before anything else. I put the new tires on my bike before I ever road it out of the garage. It went from the trailer to the garage and the wheels came off. IMO tires and brakes are among the first things to be looked at for safety reasons. The carbs, tweaking, lighting can all be done afterwards while the bike is safe to ride and test. Even tho you just said what you have put your bike info in your signature so in future posts people won't have to keep asking what you have when you ask a question.

    Welcome

A word of warning I seem to be spending more time on this board than working or sleeping.

    Nice to meet you.
