If anyone has wrapped their headers with heat wrap. I have a 4-1 header and am wondering if a 50 ft roll of 2 inch wrap is enough for the down pipes and the collector.

    Does heat wrap increase performance?

I believe sometimes it does, but I think people go back and forth on it.

Whatever "performance" increase it gives is minuscule - you'd have to take the bike to a dyno to even tell it was there.

Essentially the wrap keeps the exhaust hotter, thus allowing it to flow better and escape faster, thus slightly improving engine efficiency.

Mostly though it traps even More heat in the Cyl head and Ex Valves.. Not Good.
But Hey! that header wrap 'homeless' look is Cool
