Hey all, finally recovered from a accident and now time for getting the bike back on the road but have a question about my brake light that I hope someone can help with. A few days before my accident I saw that my brake light had stopped working, driving light was fine, and bulbs were still good on both elements, got both elements to like with direct lead wire, but brake light would not light from either the hand brake or the foot pedal, the wiring looks pretty basic, and have power for regular drive light, I only saw two main wires a ground and a power, and all fuses were good. Is there a relay, or something that I am missing? I assume that the pedal and the hand brake have seperate switches, and find it strange that both would go bad? by the way its a 82 750 maxim, thanks for any help

They do have seperate switches, though I don't think it's uncommon for both to go bad. I had both bad on my bike when I got it. If you have a multimeter, you can check resistance on the switches to see if they are working. It's an open/closed circuit, so not much to it. Actually, if you don't have a multimeter, you can just wire it up through a light, and do a local test of the switch. The foot pedal is adjustable though, so it might be out of adjustment.
