    rustoleum hammered finish paint, sprayed with a air brush, no sanding, minor grinding on some welds, strip to bare steel,degrease, tack, paint twice
    always wanted a bike with something other than a black frame

    I like the thought of something other than black - looks really nice! post some pics once you get it all back together please!

    I have another frame in the garage that I might just use to build a project once I'm done with the current one!

    Turned out looking pretty good. Have you used Rustoleum before? Just wondering about how tough it has worn in the past.

    Like the idea of something other than black also. I've been thinking about painting my frame as well and, that looks like an idea that would be do-able. It will have to wait till next winter tho, I still have to get mine up and running right now. This site has been such a great place to gather ideas from along with a wealth of tech stuff. You're going to have to post some more pictures when your getting close to finished, would like to see the final product.

    JoeFriday77: i've had it on my maxim for two years now with no signs it giving up, it's on the triple tree, rear drive pumpkin, centerstand, brake stay arm, and bars. All that stuff is from a spray can

    Rick: i got a quart of purple very similar to that with the bike but last year i proved i can't spray metallic paint :(
